Christmas with Bangladesh tribal people in Modhupur, Mymensingh.
They are called "Garo". They have Mongolian loots, keep unique traditions and customs inherited from generations. They don't look like Indians or Bangladeshi, but more like Nepalis or Bhutanese, that makes me feel that we are in some level the same kind of people. It is obvious that our faces are similar, but it is not just features of our faces. We share something culturally similar, especially its relationships with people, how they relate to others is very close to that of Japanese.
Well, and of course, most importantly, they are Christians. It means something in this country for Japanese people.
It means, Pork and Alcohol!
We enjoyed having nice dinner, drinking some local alcohol, and dancing with them through the night. This was my 6th visit to this place. I love the place and people. fortunately, they treat me as a member of their family.
Great to have such a lovely place where I can come back to.
